One year ago today, as President Biden and Vice President Harris were being sworn in, All* Above All and our campaign partners challenged our new leaders to be bold. To enact policy change that not only shored up the legal right to abortion but ensured everyone can get the abortion care they need to thrive in their communities and live their lives with economic security and dignity.
Now, we’re broadening the call. While our nation watches as the Supreme Court considers a case that could represent the end of Roe v. Wade, our coalition of Black, Indigenous, other people of color and allies wants to lay bare what we’ve always known to be true: legality is not enough to ensure access to abortion care. 49 years later, the legality of Roe is the floor — a mere suggestion of what could be for folks needing abortion care. But legality is not the ceiling — it’s nowhere close to a vision for abortion justice.
