Kelsey Ryland notes it is Black and other women of color like the abortion fund directors who are moving the pro-choice movement forward. Ryland is the director of federal strategies for All* Above All. The organization seeks to reinstate public insurance coverage of abortion. “It is women of color who pushed our movement, who continue to push our movement to be bolder, to not accept these compromises that end up falling hardest on families trying to make ends meet, who are disproportionately folks of color,” says Ryland.
