All* State Strategies Director Lexi White testified yesterday in Colorado with our partners COLOR and COBALT in front of the State Senate Judiciary Committee in support of two bills, one to improve their shield law and the other to ensure that Coloradans receive the emergency medical care they need.

“We strongly support the [Colorado] Legislature’s attempt to strengthen its shield laws and further safeguard abortion and gender-affirming care. Colorado stands as a strong beacon of care for so many people in the region as surrounding states have sought to criminalize access to care.

“We say the names of women and mothers like Josseli Barnica, like Candi Miller and Amber Thurman, whose inability to access timely emergency care proved ultimately fatal. It is critical that Colorado stands strong against anti-abortion extremist actors and protect this necessary healthcare for all.”
