Reports have uncovered that the Trump administration will announce the freezing of millions of dollars in Title X funding for Planned Parenthood affiliates, among other organizations that receive family planning grants, as it works to carry out its threat to enforce the Hyde Amendment and make drastic cuts to federal contractors to “defund” DEI initiatives.

These cuts will exacerbate the already drastic disparities in outcomes and options for people of color, people living in rural or otherwise medically underserved areas, and people with low incomes. This is just the latest iteration of how this administration is doing everything it can to strip funds from reproductive health care centers and deny critical care to patients.

“Planned Parenthood health centers play a critical role in Title X, serving 36% of patients in the program nationally,” Flint said. “Freezing Title X funding could harm millions of people who need access to birth control, cancer screenings, STI testing and treatment, or even wellness exams. This ruthless tactic by Donald Trump and Elon Musk is a direct attack on the most vulnerable communities, especially women of color, and will strip essential health care from those who need it most. It’s yet another cruel move from an administration that has made a mission out of targeting marginalized folks, putting ideology over public health. Playing politics with reproductive health care isn’t just reckless—it’s devastating, with very real consequences for families, communities, and lives.”
