WASHINGTON D.C.—Today, the All* Above All and All* Above All Action Fund steering committees announced that Morgan Hopkins will be the new President of the organizations, beginning on Monday, October 24.

Morgan brings a decade of experience volunteering, organizing, networking, and advocating for abortion justice. As Interim Executive Director for Campaigns and Strategies and Director of Political Strategies, Morgan has played key roles in All* Above All’s game-changing work to end the Hyde Amendment — from the introduction of the groundbreaking federal EACH Act to guarantee insurance coverage of abortion, securing a direct call to end the Hyde Amendment in the Democratic Party’s 2016 platform, and working hand-in-hand with partners to secure bold policies in Oregon and Illinois and pass local initiatives to end coverage bans.

“I’m deeply honored to lead All* Above All and the All* Above All Action Fund. I look forward to building on our transformative work over the last decade, especially our networked approach with 150 local, state, and national organizations and groups in the economic and immigrant justice fields,” said Morgan Hopkins, incoming President of All* Above All and All* Above All Action Fund. “We face monumental challenges to ensure access to abortion for all of us. We will create bold strategies that combine powerful political organizing, innovative policies, and ongoing engagement centering people of color. Because abortion justice can’t wait.”

“I am also pleased to announce that Jodie Lawton will be stepping into the role of Vice President of All* Above All and All* Above All Action Fund,” Hopkins said. “I am grateful for her partnership, commitment to All* Above All, and look forward to our continued work together.”

Reproductive Health, Rights, and Justice movement leaders released the following statements on the announcement:

Kierra Johnson, Executive Director of the National LGBTQ Task Force and Steering Committee member of All* Above All and All* Above All Action Fund

When All* Above All first started, few believed it was possible to end the Hyde Amendment. Since then, because of All* Above All’s relentless pursuit for justice and equity, we’ve seen the introduction of the groundbreaking EACH Act and the first U.S. House spending bill without Hyde, presidential candidates calling for an end to this harmful policy, All* Above All’s expansion of its vision and work, and this year, the first bold policy platform for abortion justice. Morgan is a leader cut from that same relentless cloth, and I can’t wait to see what’s next as she leads us into this next chapter.”

Alexis McGill Johnson, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund

“I am thrilled to see Morgan take the helm of All* Above All and All* Above All Action Fund. Whether it’s knocking doors in a neighborhood or opening doors at the White House, Morgan is fearless and unwavering in her commitment to building the political power of voters of color and achieving a world where abortion care is affordable, available, and accessible. As we take on the fight of our lives, I look forward to our continued partnership with All* Above All and Morgan’s leadership.”

Oriaku Njoku, Executive Director of the National Network of Abortion Funds and Steering Committee member of All* Above All

“I am delighted that Morgan, one of our network’s most intrepid, fearless co-conspirators in the fight for abortion justice and collective liberation, is now leading All* Above All. Her vision and values demonstrate her deep commitment to justice and equity, and on behalf of NNAF’s nearly 100 member abortion funds, I look forward to working alongside her and All* Above All to center the people who have and support those who have abortions.”

Amanda Beatriz Williams, Executive Director of the Lilith Fund for Reproductive Equity

“I am honored to have worked with Morgan for more than 10 years, from our days volunteering on the Lilith Fund hotline together to now as partners and leaders in the reproductive health, rights, and justice movement. Through it all, Morgan has bolstered the leadership and expertise of state and local organizations — listening to us, supporting us, and investing in us to ensure that together, we can create a future where no one is denied abortion care just because of how much money they have.”
