All* Above All partners with the National Institute for Reproductive Health to support local initiatives aimed at ending the Hyde Amendment nationally and restoring abortion coverage in their communities. When local leaders champion policies to fund abortion, it sends a strong message to state and federal decisionmakers.

Successes to date include 23 cities and counties that have passed resolutions in support of ending the Hyde Amendment, including two cities that have created municipal funding streams for abortion and other reproductive healthcare (including doula services, diapers, and hormone replacement therapy). Recent highlights include:

  • Our partners at the New York Abortion Access Fund advocated for the New York City Council to fund abortions for anyone traveling to NYC for care, through a direct grant to the abortion fund.
  • Lilith Fund and NARAL Pro-Choice Texas led a campaign that secured funding from the Austin City Council for practical supports for people seeking abortion, like lodging and travel expenses.
