Anti-abortion politicians want the Supreme Court to exclude pregnant people from protections under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA), which guarantees everyone—wherever we live—the right to treatment for emergency medical conditions. They are threatening healthcare providers with jail time for doing their jobs.

All families are at risk, but—due to systemic barriers—the harm will likely fall hardest on those who are more likely to visit the emergency room for medical care because they are more likely to be uninsured and lack access to routine health care from a doctor’s office, including people who live in rural areas, people working to make ends meet, immigrants, Black, Latinx, and Indigenous people.

Sign on now to make it clear—SCOTUS must reject this latest attempt to take away our freedoms. No one should be denied emergency health care just because they are pregnant.
